May 2005. Sponsorship From Hatfield Town Council The band is generously offered financial support and free use of the council building on Cuckoo Lane in Hatfield.
Hatfield attains Championship Section status for the first time in the bands history - effective from 01-01-06
Pontins, Section 1 - 8th place.
National finals section 1 - 6th place.

Butlins Mine workers Open National Championships (section 1) 1st place.
Yorkshire area contest (section 1), 1st place. Hatfield are only the second band to retain this title.
2004 -
Yorkshire area contest (section 1) 1st place.
National Finals (Harrogate conference center) 5th place.
Pontin’s Brass Band Championships. Prestatyn, Wales, 6th place.
Loss of sponsorship by Coalpower Ltd. Become "Hatfield Band" from 2005
2003 -
Sponsorship by Coalpower Ltd. provision of uniforms and banners. Became "Hatfield Coalpower Band".
Yorkshire area contest (section 2) 2nd place and were invited to the National Finals, held at Caird Hall, Dundee, Scotland. The band struggled to raise five thousand pounds without a paying sponsor in order to attend, but at the contest the band was crowned Second Section National Champions 2003, Promoted to section 1 from 2004

2001 -
Yorkshire area contest (section 2) 7th place
2000 -
MD Graham O’Connor takes to the stand.
Yorkshire Area Champions (section 3).
CISWO Mine workers Champions (section 3). Competed in National Finals at the Royal Albert Hall. Promoted back to section 2
1999 -
Relegated from section 2 to section 3
1990’s -
Performed as the "Crinkly Bottom Brass Band", conducted by "Mr. Blobby" on Noel Edmonds House Party!
Sponsorship by Wilfreda Beehive Coaches. Became "Wilfreda Beehive Hatfield Band", provision of free coaches to contests.
1970’s 1980’s
The band comfortably hovered between section 2 and 3
1950 -
Registered with the "Daily Herald National Registry of Bandsmen" as "Hatfield Colliery Band".The band started competing in section 4. Conductors in this early period, William Bamforth, Jack Atherton, Jim Thompson, Andy Owenson, George Thompson, Ken Johnson.
1947-
The Band was formed by two colliery workers, Mr J.G. Hedley (Geordie Hedley), and Mr. J. Rigby. The Band was based in Stainforth, 7 miles from Doncaster.( Now Based In Hatfield )

We hope the next few years will see Hatfield Band go on to greater things with the strongest line up of players it has ever had.
We are Doncaster’s Championship band and aim to raise our profile so that people of Doncaster know they have a Brass Band to be proud of!
