Hatfield would like to welcome Becky Nixon and Simon Brookes back to the Band. Becky is playing flugel and Simon has filled the Solo Euphonium spot. The band at the moment are currently rehearsing for the forth coming Yorkshire Area Contest held at St. Georges Hall Bradford on 2nd March. Monday 28th January fulfilled a concert with a well know Romian Gypsy band, it was a great concert held at the Priory Church in Doncaster, with nearly a full house, not having played with this "type" of band before, it was a great experience on both sides. A fantastic evening.Listen To The Band

Drew gets a job, down south
We wish front row Cornet player Drew Hill well as his last rehearsal with the band will be Friday 24 August.
He is leaving the band as he has now Graduated from Sheffield University, and has found employment in Tunbridge Wells as a web designer. Drew has been with the band since 2003, and while we are sad to lose one of the "characters" of the band, we wish him the very best of luck for the future and thank him for his loyal service to the band.
Ins ‘n’outs
We welcome Simon "Shep" Shepherd on 2nd Eb Bass. Richard "Bondy" Bond on Bass Trombone, and Clare "The other Bondy" Bond on 2nd Trombone. these three classy players have all joined us from the Riddings Band. The bottom end of the band is now complete except for a full time Second Euphonium player (Applications for Solo Euph will also be considered, as John says he will move onto second if someone really good is interested!) Neil Twist and Andy Kennedy have moved on to pastures new, we wish them well and thank them for their contributions to the band while they were with us.
Blackpool 2007
The Senior Trophy was to be a slightly frustrating contest for the band,- aiming for one of the top four qualification spots to gain entry to the Senior Cup contest for 2008.
We played exceedingly well and although many observers thought that Hatfield was perhaps the best band on the day, this was not in tune with what the adjudicators thought come results time.
Another 5th place was what the band got - following on from the Area result in March, and narrowly missing out on qualification.
On a positive note this is also another great improvement from 2006’s 12 th place and the band is very proud of the performance it gave, and to be placed fifth from a large field of twenty bands is still a good achievement.
We also had a wonderful weekend and a brilliant fancy dress party at the hotel
afterwards
(pictures may follow soon lol :-)
